Programs

Who can enroll?

Adults 18 and older who want to earn a high school diploma, prepare for a high school equivalency exam or improve their English.

What is the difference between the diploma and equivalency prep?

The Adult High School Diploma is a 22-credit program: you complete the credits you are missing, through credit recovery or original credit. Equivalency prep gets you ready for the GED® or HiSET® exam, which you register for separately at ged.com or hiset.org.

Should I take the GED® or the HiSET®?

It depends on where you will take the exam. The team helps you confirm the right one before you register.

Is the ESL program online?

Yes. Virtual ESL covers speaking, listening, reading and writing, for $45 every 3 months. Write to the ESL team.

Cost & payment

How much does it cost?

Registration is $30. Virtual ESL is $45 every 3 months. Diploma and exam-prep tuition depends on your program and the credits you need, so the team emails your exact amount before you pay.

How do I pay?

Online through PayPal, with a PayPal account, a debit card or a credit card. Wait for the email with your amount, and make sure your payment matches it.

Are fees refundable?

No. That is why ALS asks you to call, text or email the team before paying any fee.

Enrollment

What happens after I apply?

The team contacts you within 48 hours with your next steps.

How long does it take?

It depends on how many credits you still need. The diploma is 22 credits in total, and credit recovery lets you take only what is missing.

Is ALS accredited?

Yes. The Accomplished Learning Services Adult High School is accredited by WASC.

Records & office

How do I get my transcript?

Request it with the records form: an official transcript is $25 and an unofficial one is $5. Transcripts are housed on the National Clearinghouse database; contact ALS to have yours uploaded, which takes 24 to 48 hours.

When is the office open?

Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Next step
